Clippers’ Paul George leaves game with groin injury

Clippers forward Paul George left Los Angeles’ Tuesday game against the visiting Sacramento Kings before the start of the second half with a sore left groin and was not expected to return.

George had nine points on 3-of-7 shooting in 16 first-half minutes and added six rebounds.

The Clippers had been finding their stride of late with George, Kawai Leonard and James Harden in the starting lineup and Russell Westbrook coming off the bench. Los Angeles entered Tuesday’s game 9-3 since Nov. 17.

George, 33, had scored at least 20 points in each of his previous four games and entered with an average of 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 22 games this season.
