Clippers owner unveils new generation of NBA broadcasts

Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is looking to change how we view NBA games. At the Code Conference, Ballmer previewed what Second Spectrum will look like.

Mashable’s Pete Pachal shared the preview via Twitter.

Pachal also added that the experience can be more tailor made to the individual viewer.

“The animations and features could even be customized to the individual user,” he noted. “That way, Second Spectrum isn’t just for superfans — it could have different animations and info for a person new to the sport than someone who watches every day. There could even be more decorative (or silly, depending on your perspective) animations, like lightning strikes. Ballmer also proposed the service could synthesize the POV of an individual player from several high-def cameras positioned in the arena.”

This will certainly be something to watch for in 2018 when it debuts. It will definitely change the experience of the average fan watching at home.
