With NBA training camps getting going in less than a month, things are starting to take shape around the Association.
It comes after an active summer in which both the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers built the league’s newest super teams. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets added both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to the mix.
Not to be outdone, the five-time defending Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors were able to net All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell in a sign-and-trade for the above-mentioned Durant.
It’s in this that the fine folks from Sports Betting Dime have provided their odds to win the 2019-20 NBA title.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Clippers are narrow favorites over their Los Angeles rivals. Doc Rivers and Co. added reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the mix.
Meanwhile, the Lakers picked up All-Star big man Anthony Davis to team up with LeBron James.
We’re also not surprised that the Warriors’ odds took a major hit after not only losing Kevin Durant, but seeing Klay Thompson tear his ACL in the NBA Finals.
Back east, it appears that the Bucks are favored to win after the Raptors lost Leonard in free agency.
Sports Betting Dime also provided interesting odds for the Association’s top individual honor.
MVP Odds
- Giannis Antetokounmpo: +450
- James Harden: +550
- Stephen Curry: +650
- Anthony Davis: +750
- Kawhi Leonard: +800
Giannis is the defending MVP. His presence as the favorite isn’t surprising. Though, we’re not too sure where Harden stands after his Rockets landed former MVP Russell Westbrook.
Of the top five, two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry might be the best bet. He’s going to be tasked with a much larger role after the Warriors’ offseason.
