After putting together what looked like a near superteam on paper, the Cleveland Cavaliers weren’t thrilled with the results head coach J.B. Bickerstaff got from this roster. Bickerstaff led the Cavs to 48 wins but came up short in the NBA Playoffs, being eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in just five games.

Shortly after the season ended, the Cavaliers rumors began.

From Donovan Mitchell potentially being traded to a bigger market to Darius Garland potentially asking for a ticket out of town if Cleveland committed to a maximum contract extension with Mitchell, we heard just about everything. But one of the overlying themes was that Cavs fans should expect some significant roster changes this offseason.

Yet, now Yahoo’s NBA insider Jake Fischer is singing a different tune.

Is Darius Garland on the trade block? Do the Cleveland Cavaliers have Jarrett Allen on the trade block? If they do have either All-Star up for grabs, the Cavs aren’t in any rush to ship them out of town.

According to Jake Fischer, the Cavaliers have “not truly been keen on entertaining” trade offers for Allen thus far. He also adds another interesting nugget regarding the Cavaliers’ offseason plans this summer.

“The Cavs don’t appear very motivated to listen to trade inquiries for any member of their core four, sources said, even with the possibility that Garland’s representation at Klutch Sports could move to request a trade if Mitchell extends long term.”

Jake Fischer on Cleveland Cavaliers’trade rumors

While the Cavaliers may have internal plans to run it back with their core intact, we already know Cleveland will have a new head coach in charge next year. Aside from improving from within, swapping head coaches and strengthening the team’s depth may be the biggest news that comes out of the Cavs organization this offseason.
