Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. is expected to be sidelined at least six weeks with a fractured bone in his left hand, the team announced on Sunday.
Nance, 28, sustained the injury in his fourth metacarpal during Cleveland’s 124-99 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. He had just returned to action after missing three games with a sprained right wrist.

“Nance will now undergo a series of treatment and rehabilitation activities and his status will be updated as appropriate,” the team said in a statement.
Nance has averaged 9.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and an NBA second-best 1.9 steals in 19 games this season.
“He’s one of the best in the league at getting deflections and getting steals and that obviously helps us get stops, but it also helps us create easy opportunities on the offensive end of the floor,” Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff said of Nance, per Cleveland.com.
“His steals and deflections come from being in the right place at the right time and not gambling and putting himself out of position. He shores us up on both ends of the floor for sure.”
Nance has averaged 8.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 334 career games (114 starts) with the Los Angeles Lakers and Cavaliers.
