Helton has been coaching USC’s football program ever since Steve Sarkisian was jettisoned during the 2015 season for his troubles with alcohol. He had previously been the interim coach for one game during the 2013 season.
He was offered the permanent head coaching job during the 2015 season and has guided the Trojans to a record of 27-10 overall. USC won the Rose Bowl after the 2016 season and lost the Cotton Bowl to Ohio State this past January.
