CJ McCollum inks three-year, $100 million extension with Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers and guard CJ McCollum have agreed to a three-year extension worth $100 million, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

This extension now means McCollum is tied up for the next five years, during which time he’ll earn $157 million.

Portland clearly loves its two top guards, as teammate Damian Lillard recently inked a monster super maximum contract.

He’s been a dynamic scoring threat for the club the past four years. Last season, McCollum averaged 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and 0.8 steals per game during the regular season. Then, he exploded with a tremendous outpouring of offense in the playoffs, averaging 24.7 points per game.

There’s no way the Blazers were going to even toy with the idea of letting McCollum become a free agent. Now he’s locked in for the foreseeable future.
