Chris Rainey Fires Back on Twitter Post-Release

Yea im piss watchin the colts game when i should be out there too. Even tho i didnt break no f**kin team rules, not even.

Former Indianapolis Colts’ running back Chris Rainey was cut last month, and he took to social media to defend what had gone down. Chuck Pagano cited a “violation of team rules and offered no details of the incident that led to the 26 year-old’s departure.” (via Yahoo Sports)

This was only the beginning of the Twitter spat.

He also says

Nice TD Boom even tho u was in the hallway with me that nite when we was horsing around with the fire extinguisher. Man up like i did.

I was not there when this mysterious fire extinguisher incident went down, but whatever had happened, it must have been a mess if the Colts got rid of him. Especially when just two days prior to the incident Pagano was talking highly of Rainey.

Pagano had this to say about how Rainey was looking prior to his release and whether Rainey’s kick return ability gives him an advantage in terms of making the squad (via Colts.com).

Absolutely, Pagano says. He looks like the old Chris Rainey. It looked like everybody else was standing on the tape. That’s what he looks like now.

As far as Rainey’s Twitter account…

You are going to have to get his approval if you want to read his tweets.

Last season with the Colts, Rainey tallied 131 kick return yards, and not a single touchdown in two games. The year prior with Pittsburgh was more promising, which is likely what Pagano was referring to in regards to the “old Chris Rainey.” The 24 year old tallied 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns with 60 receiving yards in 16 games.
