The Jacksonville Jaguars and Chris Ivory got some good news when the running back was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN and other reports, Ivory is doing well. His status for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers remains in question, however.
Ivory was admitted to the hospital on Saturday for what the team called earlier Tuesday a “general medical issue.”
That he has been released is a very positive sign. In Schefter’s report earlier in the day, he indicated the Jaguars would know more within 48 hours. Thankfully it didn’t take nearly that long to get him back on his feet and outside the hospital walls.
Jacksonville signed Ivory to a five-year contract worth up to $32 million this offseason via free agency. He is expected to be a big part of what the Jags do offensively this year after posting career-best numbers with the New York Jets in 2015.
Hopefully this is just the first step towards Ivory getting back onto the field after this health scare. We eagerly await any further details that could help explain the extended stay.
