Chris Harris, Broncos ‘extremely close’ to agreeing on one-year deal, per report

Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris and the Denver Broncos have been embroiled in a contract impasse this offseason.

In fact, things were so tenuous between the two sides that Harris was put on the trade block. However, it looks like that’s all about to change.

On Tuesday, Benjamin Allbright shared that Harris was expected to fly into Denver.

Shortly afterward, Mike Klis of 9News in Denver reported that Harris and the Broncos were “extremely close” to doing a one-year deal.

Harris, 29, has been one of the NFL’s top cover men for the past few years. He made All-Pro squads from 2014-16 and was a Pro Bowler last season. In his eight-year career, he has tallied 19 interceptions (four that he returned to the house) and 83 passes defensed.

Obviously, getting him on board at this time is a crucial development that will benefit Denver’s defense this season.
