After exiting Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was transported to the hospital after being diagnosed with a sternum injury.

In a statement from head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder, he announced that Hill suffered a sternal clavicular joint injury. He is being treated at the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.

While the severity of the specific injury isn’t known, it will still likely sideline Hill for multiple weeks. If doctors determine Hill needs to miss more than six weeks, he could become a candidate for the injured reserve list with a designation to return later in the season.

Sammy Watkins would likely step in as Kansas City’s top wide receiver as long as Hill is out. Watkins finished Sunday’s game with 198 receiving yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions.
