Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco missed Thursday’s practice and could be sidelined for the Week 14 game with the Buffalo Bills because of a shoulder injury.

Pacheco and left tackle Donovan Smith (neck stinger) were not on the field Thursday, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and rookie tackle Wanya Morris prepping to start against the Bills.

“We’ll see,” Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said Thursday. “Pop (Pacheco) has been phenomenal for us all year. The other guys in that room have done a really good job of starting to complete that room. It’s got to be a next-man-up mentality.”

Running back Jerick McKinnon has been dealing with a groin issue but was a full participant in practice Thursday.

Pacheco is third in the AFC and fifth in the NFL in rushing with 779 yards.

He had 18 carries for 110 yards at Green Bay last week, playing through the shoulder contusion suffered during the game.

Edwards-Helaire has 140 rushing yards this season. He was Kansas City’s top rusher against Buffalo last season with nine carries for 33 yards.
