Kansas City Chiefs starting linebacker Nick Bolton dislocated his left wrist during Sunday’s 31-17 win over the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, coach Andy Reid said postgame.

“They’re working on that now, and we’ll see how he does,” Reid told reporters. “He really had a heck of a game up to that point.”

Bolton led the Chiefs (6-1) with nine tackles despite his early exit. He apparently injured the wrist when tackling Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen in the fourth quarter, as Allen’s body rolled up on Bolton’s arm.

He was initially deemed questionable to return, but he stayed out for the rest of the Chiefs’ sixth straight victory.

Bolton started all 17 regular-season games and three playoff games last season for Kansas City, but he missed three games earlier this season with a high ankle sprain. Drue Tranquill filled in for Bolton during that absence.

Including Sunday’s performance, Bolton has 28 tackles and one interception through four games this season.
