The Chicago White Sox reinstated outfielder Eloy Jimenez from the 60-day injured list ahead of Monday’s game at Kansas City.

The 24-year-old slugger has missed the entire 2021 season with a torn left pectoral tendon suffered in spring training.

Jimenez batted .289 with two homers and four RBIs in 12 rehab games with Class-A Winston-Salem and Triple-A Charlotte from July 10-24. He made nine starts in left field and three as the designated hitter.

Jimenez finished fourth in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2019 and won a Silver Slugger award in 2020. He is a .276/.321/.527 hitter with 45 homers and 120 RBIs in 177 games.

In a corresponding transaction, the White Sox optioned infielder Jake Burger to Charlotte.

Burger, 25, was Chicago’s first-round pick in 2017 and made his MLB debut on July 2. He hit .263 with one homer and three RBIs in 15 games.
