Are there any offensive linemen left? The Chicago Bears have been collecting them like candy ever since the offseason kicked off.

First, they traded for a former Pro Bowl guard in Jonah Jackson, and then they traded for a two-time All-Pro guard in Joe Thuney. Now, they’re added to their offensive interior with another elite lineman.

Nearly as soon as the NFL’s free agency negotiating window opened, the Chicago Bears had already executed a deal with one of the best players available.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Bears have signed top free agent center Drew Dalman to a three-year, $42 million contract.

While Dalman has yet to earn a Pro Bowl nod or an All-Pro selection, he is viewed as a rising star. Just last season he graded as the fourth-best center by Pro Football Focus’ standards. Chances are, if he and his fellow linemen can help keep Caleb Williams clean, he’ll get his chance to earn some individual accolades, and with the team the Bears are building, he might be able to celebrate some postseason success too.
