Charles Clay might miss Raiders game, anticipating birth of child

The Buffalo Bills could be without tight end Charles Clay this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders as he awaits the birth of his child, the team announced Saturday.

Clay did not travel to Oakland with his teammates. The franchise called up tight end Gerald Christian from the practice squad to play if Clay, deemed questionable for the game, is unable to play.

Clay has not missed a single game this year. Since he came aboard last year, Clay has caught 87 passes for 851 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he has not made the kind of impact he was expected to make when he was brought on board from Miami at the cost of $38 million over five years.

Putting his impact on the football field aside, we truly wish Clay and his family well as they eagerly await the birth of his child.
