Chargers TE Hunter Henry in NFL concussion protocol

San Diego Chargers rookie tight end and fantasy football darling Hunter Henry experienced concussion symptoms after Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. As such, he’s been placed in the concussion protocol.

Henry has been a key weapon for Philip Rivers most weeks since getting his shot to make a major impact starting in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.

He is the team’s third most productive receiver this year. Despite a cold outing against Atlanta, he’s caught 19 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns since that time.

Should the rookie out of Arkansas be unable to play when the Chargers hit the road against the Denver Broncos, it’s safe to say he’ll be missed. If that does happen, look for Rivers to attempt connecting with his old go-to guy, Antonio Gates, a bit more often.
