Fresh off a blowout win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors, star Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving will miss Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings with a thigh injury.

Sitting out the second half of a back-to-back this late in the season wouldn’t normally be cause for alarm. But when it comes to Irving, we have to take note.
He’s missed multiple games to nagging injuries this season and had to sit out north of 20 games to injury during the 2017-18 campaign.
Even then, this seems rather minor in the grand scheme of things.
Boston heads into Wednesday’s game against Sacramento with a 39-26 record and as the fifth seed back east.
It will need the star guard 100 percent healthy in order to obtain a top-four seed and home-court advantage in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
