Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart announced on Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19. The news came minutes after the Los Angeles Lakers announced two of their players also tested positive.

Smart has been self-quarantined since the Celtics announced on March 12 that all players and staff would be tested. Fortunately, Smart said he is feeling good and hasn’t shown any symptoms.

The Celtics announced in a statement that one player, Marcus Smart, tested positive for the coronavirus. He is being monitored by medical staff and the team is awaiting further testing results.

The NBA suspended its season on March 11 after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert became the first player to test positive for the coronavirus. Since that time, nine additional players have tested positive for the coronavirus. The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers also announced that members of their organization tested positive.

According to Johns Hopkins University, there are more than 11,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States.
