The Boston Celtics found themselves down 72-31 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night. That’s not a typo. On its home court, Boston was trailing by 41 points midway through the game.
More bad news for those who bleed Celtic green. Star guard Isaiah Thomas was forced from the game with a right hip strain and will not return.
Isaiah Thomas will miss the remainder of tonight's game with a right hip strain.

We’re not too sure how serious the injury is. Then again, there’s a scenario in play here that suggests Boston decided enough was enough while looking forward go Game 3.
Up to this point, the Eastern Conference Finals have been in no way competitive. Maybe giving the struggling Thomas some time off could help Boston make a series of this. But by the way Cleveland is playing, that seems to be highly unlikely.
There will surely be updates on Thomas’ status later Friday evening.
