Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a concussion during the first quarter of Sunday’s wild-card game against the Seattle Seahawks. He exited the game, was escorted into the locker room and never returned to the field after Jadeveon Clowney’s controversial helmet-to-helmet hit.

On Monday morning, Wentz took to Instagram with a message in which he shared his pride in his teammates battling through adversity. He also shared that he’s “feeling good today and will be just fine!”

Wentz continued, writing, “Head injuries are a scary thing so I appreciate everybody’s thoughts and prayers. Hate not being out there to finish it out with my guys because of a play like that, but it’s the unfortunate part of this game.”

Many felt the hit Clowney put on Wentz should have been penalized. He led with his helmet, spearing Wentz on the side of the head and causing a significant impact on the turf. After Sunday’s wild-card game, the ref heading the game shared that the hit was viewed as “incidental” and therefore not worthy of a flag.
