Carson Palmer Leaves Game with Apparent Knee Injury

Just days after signing a three-year, $50 million extension, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer exited the team’s game against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday afternoon with an apparent knee injury.

Despite Palmer clutching his ankle, reports from Fox indicates that it’s some sort of knee injury. After returning to the sideline, Palmer was carted off to the locker room for further evaluation.

Drew Stanton replaced him in the lineup.

Palmer’s official status is questionable with a knee injury.

Update (7:31 pm et): Cardinals are looking at the same ACL that Palmer previously injured back in 2005.

Update (7:34 pm et): Cardinals now believe Palmer did in fact tear ACL. Tests will be conducted to confirm the injury.

Update (2:12 pm et): Head coach Bruce Arians confirmed on Monday that Palmer does indeed have a torn ACL and will go on season-ending injured reserve.
