Carson Palmer believes he could return in 4-6 weeks

On Sunday, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians announced that Carson Palmer would miss roughly eight weeks after surgery on a broken arm. A day later, the coach changed his tune, noting that the quarterback believes he can return in 4-6 weeks.

That’s certainly positive news for the Cardinals.

For it to be worth bringing Palmer back, Arizona will have to be within striking range of a playoff spot. Following Sunday’s loss, the Cardinals are two full games behind the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West, and they would need to jump six teams to qualify as a Wild Card.

There’s enough time in the season for those obstacles to be overcome. But the Cardinals will have to excel without Palmer to have a chance with him.
