NFL insider reveals ‘several voices inside Carolina Panthers organization favor Bryce Young’

We’re now officially less than a month away from when commissioner Roger Goodell will announce who the Carolina Panthers have selected with the top pick in the NFL Draft. In this case, there is no consensus top prospect, keeping the masses guessing about whether Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, or another player hears their name called first.

While we may not know the identity of the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft just yet, we do know it will be a quarterback. Chances are, it will be one of Young or Stroud, but it’s been hard to decipher if the Panthers are leaning any which way thus far.

Yet, if we tap into NBC Sports’ Peter King’s sources, we’d be led to believe Alabama’s Bryce Young may be the frontrunner. This is all based on his latest Football Night in America column on Pro Football Talk.

While King does believe both Young and Stroud are still vying to be Carolina’s pick, he has also heard from “several influential voices in the organization” who prefer Young over Stroud and everyone else.

However, King also provides caution, stating this doesn’t necessarily guarantee Young will be the pick come April 27 with the Panthers still having several organization draft discussions on the docket in the next few weeks.

Ultimately, King believes coach Frank Reich “likes Young a lot.” But does the coach like the Alabama prospect more than Stroud? King says he isn’t sure, which just keeps us guessing even more.
