According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, the Arizona Cardinals will be hosting Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield for a visit. The Cardinals make for the seventh team that Mayfield will meet with.
It makes sense that the Cardinals are considering options outside of the newly signed Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon. When healthy and present, Bradford is an adequate signal caller and respected locker room personality. But, Glennon makes for a worrisome option at backup should Bradford miss time.
Mayfield is one of the top prospects at his position in this year’s draft class. Though, it would take some maneuvering up the ranks for the Cardinals to land the Heisman winner. Currently, the Cardinals have the 15th pick in next month’s draft.
Should the Cardinals wind up selecting Mayfield, it would at least make his psychic’s prediction come true, according to Logan Newman of Arizona Sports. No joke.
It should be interesting to see how Mayfield’s visit in Arizona goes.
