Cardinals rumors: St. Louis has looked into Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel

The St. Louis Cardinals are rumored to be looking into signing Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel in free agency this winter.

Jon Morosi and Jon Heyman of MLB Network shared this report on Twitter Thursday.

In need of pitching help, this inquiry makes a ton of sense for the Cardinals.

What’s not yet known is exactly what Keuchel’s market would be at this time. Likely, the lefty would come at a cheaper price tag than some of the other top pitchers still on the market due to his mediocre 2019 season.

Last year, Keuchel posted a 3.75 ERA, 1.367 WHIP, and 91/39 K/BB ratio over 112 2/3 innings (19 starts) during the regular season with the Atlanta Braves in 2019.

A two-time All-Star who won the Cy Young in 2017 as a member of the Houston Astros, Keuchel turns 32 on Jan. 1 and could still have some good years ahead of him.
