Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton released a brand-new video blog to YouTube Friday and opened up about his foot injury.

Sipping on wine and smoking a cigar, Newton admitted he has a mild Linsfranc injury, and that he rushed back from the injury that he suffered in the preseason. He also said that he could miss anywhere between one and six weeks as he continues to recover.

Newton said he was so focused on having missed so much time with his shoulder injury that he was determined to play on the injured foot, even though it wasn’t close to being healed. He also admitted it was a mistake for him, and for his teammates.

He played in the team’s first two games but struggled mightily, completing 56.2% of his passes for 572 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

Kyle Allen replaced Newton in Week 3 and sparked a huge offensive performance, passing for four touchdowns as Carolina won its first game of the season.

Heading into Week 4, Newton remains out and is not traveling with the Panthers to New Orleans for their game against the Saints.
