We knew the matchup between No. 1 seeds would bring fireworks in the women’s NCAA Tournament Championship. Seeing Caitlin Clark lead her Iowa Hawkeyes against the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks is a sight to behold, but there aren’t any words that can do the basketball superstar justice.
Each time she takes the floor, she leaves sports fans bewildered by her incredible amount of skill. That continued on Sunday during Iowa’s National Championship matchup.
Iowa got out to a hot start, leading South Carolina 27-20, but this was all thanks to a fiery start from Clark, where she set a new record for the most points ever scored in a single quarter of an NCAA Championship game.
Clark was brilliant, sinking 5-of-9 shots, including 3-of-4 3-point attempts to chip in 18 of Iowa’s 27 points. Her magnificent performance even included this 33-foot dagger from nearly halfcourt.
