Bucs LB Kendell Beckwith could miss start of season after car crash

Kendell Beckwith

Second-year linebacker Kendell Beckwith of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was involved in a car accident last week in Louisiana which caused an injury to his ankle that required surgery.

On Thursday, general manager Jason Licht confirmed there was a fracture to Beckwith’s ankle and that the young man could miss games early in the season. He will certainly miss all of the team’s OTAS and likely time in training camp, Licht said, per Trevor Sikkema of Pewter Report.

Beckwith isn’t a big-name star, but he has a bright future in this league. He came on very strong for the Bucs as a third-round rookie out of LSU last season. He appeared in all 16 games, earned 11 starts and racked up 73 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
