The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed wide receiver Mike Evans on injured reserve Tuesday with a hamstring injury, ending his 2019 season.

Evans, who was named to his third Pro Bowl on Tuesday, suffered the injury on a 61-yard touchdown on Dec. 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. He immediately left the game and it didn’t take long before the team made it clear he was unlikely to return this season.

Now with his year in the books, Evans finishes with 67 receptions, 1,157 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He will be healthy for the start of training camp next season as he looks to extend his streak of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Paired with the absence of fellow Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin, who suffered a significant hamstring injury in Week 15, Breshad Perriman will now step in as Tampa Bay’s No. 1 receiver for the final two games.
