Bryce Harper wants the Mets to win the 2015 World Series

Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper is a gracious loser.

After a walk-off double to give the Washington Nationals a win in the 12th inning on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies, the man many believe should be the MVP of the league offered his well-wishes to the New York Mets, saying he hopes they go on to win the World Series.

Many picked the Nationals to go all the way at the beginning of the season, but a rash of injuries and some under-performing pitchers doomed their chances.

Instead, their NL East rival Mets hit the ground running in the second half of the season, dusting the Nats in the process. New York is currently 8.5 games ahead with just eight games left to play, and the Nationals are too far out in the Wild Card to make a late run there, too.

It’s been a bitterly disappointing season for the team, but Harper can’t be blamed. He was the bright spot in an otherwise cloudy season for Washington. Furthermore, his comment about his rival shows he has plenty of class, to boot.
