Bruce Arians won’t commit to Jameis Winston as Bucs’ starting QB

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off just their third win in nine attempts thus far this season.

It was not easy at home against the Arizona Cardinals. Jameis Winston threw two more interceptions and fumbled yet another time. Despite this, Tampa was able to come out on top by the score of 30-27.

One day after the game, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians was asked about Winston’s status following the 2019 season. To say he was non-committal would be an understatement.

Arians has in the past not shied away from questioning Winston’s performance. That was no more true than after a six-turnover performance against the Carolina Panthers back in Week 6.

An impending free agent, Winston has accounted for 17 touchdowns and a league-leading 14 interceptions in nine starts. He’s also fumbled a ridiculous 10 times.

At some point, the Buccaneers are going to have to move on from the Winston experiment. Further struggles as the 2019 season draws to a close will make that decision a lot easier.
