Bruce Arians puts young CB on blast after practice

New Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is not wasting any time changing the culture around the organization.

With Tampa taking part in his first OTA session as head coach, Arians openly wondered why former first-round pick Vernon Hargreaves was not practicing on Tuesday.

His response to a question about Hargreaves’ absence was telling.

“You’ll have to talk to Vernon,” Arians told reporters, via Greg Auman of The Athletic. “He’s got to get his mind right for practice.”

When asked a follow-up question, Arians remained on the offensive. “You’ll have to ask him.”

Hargreaves, 23, has suited up in a total of 10 games over the past two seasons. The No. 11 overall pick back in 2016 has recorded a grand total of one interception in three seasons.

The hope in Tampa is that a new coaching staff gets the cornerback on the right path. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that’s the case right now.
