Brooks Koepka put together his second straight strong round at the Masters following Friday’s 5-under-par 67 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

That moved Koepka to 12-under for the tournament and gave him a five-stroke advantage as golfers in the early wave began to finish the round.

Norway’s Viktor Hovland and Spain’s Jon Rahm, who shared the first-round lead with Koepka, had afternoon tee times and had yet to start their rounds by the time Koepka finished. Rain is in the afternoon forecast.

Koepka recorded an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole. The four-time major champion also had three birdies on the par-5s during his bogey-free round.

Australia’s Jason Day moved to second on the scoreboard at 7-under for the tournament through 15 holes. His double-bogey on No. 15 derailed his surge that had him within three shots of Koepka.

Others with strong showings among golfers with morning tee times were amateur Sam Bennett, who was at 6-under through 12 holes, and Collin Morikawa, who was 5-under with six holes to play.

Sam Burns and Jordan Spieth were at 5-under for the tournament when they made the turn.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler was at 2-under for the tournament midway through the second round. He shot 1-over on the front side Friday.
