Brooklyn Nets sign veteran guard Iman Shumpert

The Brooklyn Nets signed veteran free agent guard Iman Shumpert on Saturday, the team announced.

Shumpert, 30, played 13 games with the Nets last season, averaging 4.2 points per game in 18.5 minutes per game.

Originally selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, Shumpert earned All-Rookie First Team honors following his debut season. Shumpert played four seasons in New York and four in Cleveland, followed by brief stints in Sacramento, Houston and Brooklyn.

For his career, Shumpert averages 7.2 points per game.
