Denver Broncos Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris received that much-anticipated raise from the team on Tuesday. Said raise will give the 29-year-old defensive back north of $3 million more in 2019 than he was previously slated to earn.
This ends what has been a drama-filled past several months between Harris and the Broncos. But it also seems to be an indication that the 2019 season will be Harris’ last one in Denver.
The four-time Pro Bowler took to Instagram after his new deal was made official to say as much.
Harris was said to be looking for $15 million annually on a new deal. He settled for $12.05 million. One of the game’s best cover guys is now looking to reset the cornerback market when he hits free agency next March.
An undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011, Harris has yielded a sub 75 passer rating when targeted over the past five seasons. He’s earned four Pro Bowl appearances during that span.
