Brewers SP Jhoulys Chacín leaves game to injury

The Milwaukee Brewers already questionable starting pitching depth might have taken yet another hit on Wednesday.

Veteran Jhoulys Chacín left his start against the Cincinnati Reds after three innings with what’s being described as right rib cage discomfort.

This comes after ace and All-Star Brandon Woodruff was placed on the injured list. He’s expected to miss six weeks.

Chacín, 31, has been downright terrible this season. He’s pitching to a 3-10 record with a 5.67 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 18 starts.

With the MLB trade deadline a week away, look for the Brewers to add a starting pitcher. They’ve recently been linked to Matthew Boyd of the Detroit Tigers. Chacín’s injury might expedite matters in this regard.
