Brewers’ Christian Yelich won’t rule out return for World Series

As his Milwaukee Brewers prepare for the NL Wild Card game against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, likely league MVP Christian Yelich talked to the media.

Yelich has been sidelined since Sept. 10 after suffering a fractured kneecap.

While playing it close to the vest, Yelich would not rule out a return to the diamond if his Brewers were to somehow make it to the World Series.

The reigning NL MVP talked about it depending on how his knee responds, noting that it will “be cutting it close.”

There’s definitely good news on this front. Yelich did not have to undergo surgery after suffering the devastating injury.

Yelich, 27, finished the regular season hitting a league-best .329 with 44 homers and 97 RBI while posting an absurd 1.100 OPS.

Needless to say, he’d be welcomed back on the off-chance Yelich can return for the Fall Classic.
