The High Limit Sprint Car Series, which is set to challenge World of Outlaws next season as a national series, gained yet another high-profile full-time entry over the weekend in the form of Brent Marks.
The Myerstown Missile is considered amongst the elite of the Pennsylvania Posse that generally runs weekly around the Commonwealth but also hits up marquee races like those at Eldora Speedway in Ohio or the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa.
Marks previously raced full-time with the Outlaws from 2017 to 2019 and finished ninth in the 2018 championship standings. He has a total of 14 career World of Outlaw victories in addition to 11 All Star Circuit of Champions victories.
He won 13 Sprint Car features in 2023, including a marquee win at the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in October and a prelim win during the World Finals at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
The decision is also a bit of a surprise as most expected Marks to keep racing locally in PA in addition to a true outlaw schedule — something amounts to a pick-and-choose around the country.
The Murray Marks No. 19 becomes the 13th commitment to run the full 60-race slate, joining previously announced Rico Abreu (Abreu No. 24), Jacob Allen (Shark Racing No. 1A), Spencer Bayston (CJB Motorsports No. 5), Brenham Crouch (Crouch No. 1), Corey Day (Jason Meyers Racing No. 14), Cory Eliason (Ridge & Sons Racing No. 8), Kasey Kahne (Kahne No. 9), Justin Peck (Buch Motorsports No. 13), Parker Price-Miller (PPM No. 9P), Brad Sweet (Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49), Chris Windom (Vermeer Motorsports No. 55), and Zeb Wise (Rudeen Racing No. 26).
The series has outlined its plans to introduce a NASCAR style charter agreement for team owners by the 2026 season and one that would encourage teams to compete for over the next two seasons as a reason to join from Day One.
