Braves’ Manager Lets Someone Break Concrete Block Over His Chest

There was some Karate Kid type of stuff going on in the Atlanta Braves’ locker room recently.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez likes to invite motivational speakers to spring training to give that extra edge to his players.

This time around, thanks to the suggestion of Jonny Gomes, minister Donnie Moore grasped a sledgehammer and smashed a concrete block on the skipper’s chest as he laid down in the middle of the locker room.

Before you start freaking out, Gonzalez made sure to alert everyone that this wasn’t the minister’s first rodeo.

He had done it before and he knew what he was doing,” Gonzalez responded when asked if he was scared. “I think the last thing in his mind was to hurt somebody. At the end of the day, if he’s going to hurt somebody, I’d rather him hurt me than one of the players.”

As the video shows, Gonzalez walked away with no injuries, but probably a massive boost of adrenaline.

Wax on, Fredi.
