Brandon Marshall Says Kyle Orton is a Better QB Than Jay Cutler

If you ask New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall if Jay Cutler is the best quarterback he has ever played with, he will let you know that he has played with better.

This was Marshall’s response when he was asked by a fan at a Q&A session about the best quarterback he has ever played with:

The fact that Marshall didn’t mention Cutler, who he played with three seasons in Denver then three seasons in Chicago, is quite surprising. The pair put up some pretty impressive numbers during that stretch of time.

When comparing the two 32-year-old quarterbacks, Orton passed for 18,037 yards, 101 touchdowns and 59 interceptions during his nine-year career.

In his nine years, Cutler has tallied 27,749 yards, 183 touchdowns and 130 interceptions in 119 starts.

Marshall and Cutler were once considered close. However, it appears that the relationship strained a great deal towards the end of the receiver’s stint in Chicago. At one point, Marshall even concluded that the Bears would have “buyer’s remorse” regarding the massive contract they gave Cutler.

Thursday’s comment paints a picture that doesn’t seem too friendly regarding a future relationship between Marshall and his former quarterback.

That’s not a big deal for the receiver, especially considering he’s got a new best bud in the form of Geno Smith in New York.
