Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker won’t play Saturday because of a sore ankle, head coach Frank Vogel said.

In addition, Vogel said Bradley Beal’s debut in a Suns uniform will continue to be delayed because of a back issue. Vogel said there was “no change” in the status of Beal, acquired in the offseason from the Washington Wizards.

The Suns will meet the 76ers in Philadelphia in an afternoon clash.

Beal missed 32 games last season because of a number of injuries. He was shut down after playing only 40 games in the 2021-22 season following wrist surgery and now has missed the first five games of the 2023-24 season.

Booker, 27, played 35 minutes in the Suns’ loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, finishing with 31 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds. Vogel said because of the short time span between games that Booker would have the time off on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Beal, a three-time All-Star, has averaged 22.1 points and shot 37.2 percent on 3-pointers in 695 career games.
