Would a rematch between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul garner much, if any interest at all?

Tyson (50-7-2, 44 KOs) is set to take on former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition match, scheduled for spring 2026. Although the rules of the contest, along with the exact date, and location, still have yet to be determined.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion will compete in an exhibition for the first time, since a split draw against the legendary Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. And this time around, Tyson is confident that he’ll return to the ring even sharper.

“This fight right here, I think I’d be more adapted,” Tyson told Hard Rock Bet. “Because I had my other two experiences. I realized how to train this time, then other times.”

However, Tyson would like another crack at YouTube sensation Jake Paul, who handed him his most recent defeat.

In November 2024, “Iron” met Paul in an eight-round contest. To the shock of many, it was Tyson’s first professional fight in nearly 20 years.

“The Problem Child” out landed and outworked Tyson in a one-sided fight. Paul connected on 78 out of 278 total punches (28%), compared to Tyson’s 18 out of 97 total (18%), according to CompuBox stats. The three judges scored the fight 80-72, and 79-73 (twice), to give Paul the unanimous decision win.

“I didn’t want to use that for an excuse,” said Tyson. “But I had some real bad health problems, but I’m fine now. I have no excuses.”

At 59 years old, it’s clear that Tyson is far removed from his glory days, which made him known as “the baddest man on the planet.” But there is no question that the fighter in him, and his heart for the sport remain very much there.

“I’m just hoping, after this Floyd fight, maybe we can have a rematch,” said Tyson. “Yes, I would, I would be interested in that.”
