Iconic broadcaster Bob Costas is returning to HBO this spring with “Back on the Record with Bob Costas.”

The 28-time Emmy winner will conduct in-depth interviews with what the network called “the biggest names in sports, entertainment and popular culture.”

Costas will lead four episodes each year, which will feature current sports stars and retired legends and other sports newsmakers. The shows also will feature roundtable discussions and commentaries from Costas, 69.

“Bob has long been one of the most talented and versatile broadcasters in the world of sports and entertainment, and we are thrilled for his return to HBO,” said Nina Rosenstein, HBO’s executive vice president of programming.

No date was given for the debut show.

Costas won seven of his Sports Emmy Awards while hosting HBO’s “On The Record with Bob Costas” (2001-04) and “Costas Now” (2005-09). He is the only broadcaster to earn Emmys in news, sports and entertainment.

He hosted 11 Olympic Games on NBC as well as coverage of multiple Super Bowls, Triple Crown races, World Series, NBA Finals and more.

He will continue calling games and handling special projects for MLB Network, and he will remain on the air with CNN to contribute to stories that cross over between news and sports.

Costas is a member of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and he also has been honored by both the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
