The Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks have agreed to swap players in a trade that will send Evan Turner to Atlanta and Kent Bazemore to Portland, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
It’s an interesting trade that gives both teams a bit of help where they need it.
For Portland, Bazemore gives them a bit more scoring off the bench and a strong perimeter defender. Last season, he averaged 11.6 points per contest, and over the course of his career Bazemore has averaged one steal and half a block per game.
Turner is a veteran backup guard who wasn’t getting much play with the Blazers and saw his production dip in each of the past four years. However, he can be a key rotational player for an up-and-coming Hawks team that is rebuilding from the ground up.
