The Tampa Bay Rays shared Monday that pitcher Blake Snell underwent successful surgery to remove “loose bodies” from his elbow, and that he is still expected to return in September.
The Cy Young winner had struggled to match his incredible 2018 production this season, prior to going on the IL and undergoing surgery, putting up a 4.28/1.25 split.
If he is able to return to the Rays fully healthy and in the form that saw him dominate last year, and if the team is still in the playoff hunt, then he can help push this team to greater heights when it matters most.
