Bills QB Tyrod Taylor leaves game with concussion

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor

While we stopped short of concluding there was a quarterback controversy in Buffalo earlier in the summer, one may now very well be on the horizon.

Starting Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor left the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday after his head was smacked against the turf on a sack by Ravens linebacker Matt Judon.

The Bills would announce shortly afterwards that Taylor suffered a concussion.

Before exiting, Taylor had completed 1-of-3 passes for a single yard, bringing his presason completion percentage down to a disastrous 48.3.

Rookie Nathan Peterman took over under center for Taylor.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this. First off, Taylor will need to pass through the league’s concussion protocol to play in Week 1. Secondly, he hasn’t necessarily given the Bills confidence this preseason that he’s a starter-caliber option moving forward.
