Bill Polian, who was one of the AAF’s founders, can now be counted among the people associated with the league to issue a statement on its demise.

In a statement posted by Darren Rovell of the Action Network, Polian was thankful to those who helped get the league started. And like Orlando Apollos coach Steve Spurrier, he was also quite critical of league majority owner, Tom Dundon.

Spurrier and Polian both believed that the current season would finish. Additionally, they both seemed to have high hopes regarding the future of the league.

Obviously, they got that impression from somewhere. Either they were given bad information or there was a massive disconnect somewhere along the way.

The AAF may be folding. But expect to hear more about this in the coming days and weeks. It feels like we’ll hear a lot of statements similar to this one going forward.
