Bill Belichick praises his players: ‘They’ve been focused, no question’

Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots hasn't discussed a Malcolm Butler trade with the Saints yet

Bill Belichick is satisfied with where his team is at with under two days remaining before the New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Belichick praised his team’s focus.

“I think they’ve been focused, no question,” coach Bill Belichick said in the pool report released by the league (h/t Charean Williams of PFT). “There are things that are different about this game, but we’ve managed those and we’ve tried to focus on what we need to do and I think the attention level has been good.

“It’s hard to win in this league. It’s very competitive. I think we’ll be ready to go and we’ll go out there and do the best we can.”

After opening as six-point favorites, the Patriots are now favored to win by 4.5 points, according to Vegas Insider. Though, based on the way people are betting, it seems the mood out there among those who are interested in the money side of all this are hoping for a big upset by the Eagles.

History is certainly on New England’s side. The Patriots have won five titles in the past two decades, while the Eagles haven’t won a championship since 1960. History means very little in a game like this, however. Having a history of being prepared is another thing, though, and the Patriots are certainly the best in the business there.

We won’t have to wait much longer to see who comes out ahead. Get your popcorn ready, folks. It should be great.
