Steve Spurrier is a national treasure.
The Head Ball Coach showed up at SEC Media Days ready to drop bombs, and he most certainly did. Spurrier addressed plenty of his favorite targets.
He opened with a jab at the longtime members of the SEC media:
Spurrier: "I see a lot of familiar faces out there. I figure a bunch of you guys would have retired by now."
— Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) July 14, 2015
Spurrier followed that with a low blow at perhaps his favorite target: Tennessee. After all, you can’t spell Citrus without UT.
Spurrier: “We were 7-6. Same as Tennessee, same as Arkansas. I think they’re sorta celebratin’ big seasons last year."

Spurrier offered his take on dual-quarterback systems:
Spurrier on QBs: "You can win with two. Nothing in the rulebook says you have to have one."

Spurrier mentioned locker room hierarchy:
The 70-year-old coach noted a youthful conference record he holds:
Spurrier: “I’m the youngest coach in the SEC to win 4 straight bowl games"

Most importantly, though, Spurrier shared a tremendous team rule:
Spurrier: "I've always had a rule as a coach: If you hit a girl, you're finished." — Great rule actually #SECMD15

Media days are one step closer toward football season, and we cannot wait for what Spurrier will say next.
South Carolina opens its 2015 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 3, on the road against North Carolina.
